Kids Camps in Houston for September 5-8, 2017… To Bridge the Hurricane Harvey Gap

We are in a tricky spot… Hurricane Harvey moved on but houses are still under water and a whole lot of work is needed around town. Some schools will not start until September 11, 2017 but parents need to get back to work.

Several organizations have scrambled to provide camps next week… and they are listed below. (Thanks for all the tips from readers!) If you know of more, please let us know!

  1. Friday Nite Live in the City of Bellaire will be open free of cost, just y donations at the Bellaire Rec Center next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to 2pm. Fun, active, supervised entertainment for kids. music, bounce houses, organized games and sports.No reservations required, first come, first serve. only 100 spots per day. And on Friday it will reopen at the regular cost and time 7 – 11PM.

  2. HIT! Indoor baseball is doing a camp for kids aged 6-12 from 9a-2p each day. $60 day, $250 for the week. In Spring Brachboff Campbell. Nice guys. My son went there this past week.

    Asi gymnastics and Cypress Academy Gymnastics in the cypress area are doing camps as well!

    The Houston Museum of Natural Science is offering a pop-up day camp for 6 to 12 year olds September 5th through the 8th from 8 am to 3 pm. The camp will include labs, outreach, hall visits, a craft and a sack lunch with something different each day. To sign up, visit store.HMNS.org and click on Summer Camps and then click Camp Harvey. $30 per day per child.
