Make your plans for another great weekend in Houston, with kids!

Pull out the costumes and go to Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo, Farm Fun & Pumpkin Patch at Blessington Farms, the Pumpkin Patch at Nature Discovery Center or ArBOOretum! at the Houston Arboretum.

Take the family to  Wings Over Houston at Ellington Airport.  (Just remember some affiliate ear protection for the kids.)  Go to the Night Market at the Asia Society.  Here there is after-hours access to exhibitions, live music and a Japanese-style carnival.

Go to the East End Esplanade for the East End Street Fest.  Over a three-block area of the Navigation Esplanade, there will be live music, vendors and artists showcasing dance, music, fitness and martial arts.  There will also be a large kid zone with rock climbing, mechanical bull rides, moonwalks, a petting zoo and more.

Get your costumes ready for Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo, Halloween Mayhem at Children’s Museum and Oktoberfest at First Evangelical Lutheran Church Midtown!  Keep it out for the KBR Kids Day at Guadalupe Plaza Park where there will entertainment, face painters, balloon artists, birds of prey and a Halloween Costume Parade.

Take your young ladies to the Girls in Aviation Day at Lone Star Flight Museum and take your young artists to the Bayou City Art Festival by City Hall.

Next week, go to my most favorite Toddler Tuesday of all.  Discovery Green will have Touch a Truck event.  Get up close to all kinds of cars and trucks!

Go to Discovery Green for moonGARDEN: “Goodnight, Moon”.  Wear your pajamas,  enjoy milk and cookies, stargaze with the Astrological Society and listen to the story.

Take the family to Hands On Houston: Mixed Media Sculptures at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.  Play with form and color, as you experiment with pattern, texture, and proportion, to design your own small sculpture using a range of materials.

Watch Curious George: The Golden Meatball at Main Street Theater.  If you can’t get tickets for this weekend, plan ahead to see everyone’s favorite curious little monkey and his friend in the yellow hat.

Go see Curious George: The Golden Meatball at Main Street Theater or watch Annie on the lawn at Levy Park. (For Curious George, tickets are going fast, so if you can’t get them this weekend, buy them now for another weekend!)

Play at the farm and pick out a pumpkin at Blessington Farms.  Climb up dirt hills, slide down hillsides, feed the animals, zip across zip lines and more!

Swing into hay bales, slide down hills, race around the pedal bike course, feed the animals, go fishing and more.  The Fall Festivities and Pumpkin Patch open this weekend at Blessington Farms!

Take your train lovers to Fall Fun Fest at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum.  See the museum, ride the trackless train, see the model steam engine displays and enjoy the bounce house, games, face painting, music and crafts.

This weekend is also the Smithsonian’s Free Museum Day.  There are several participating Houston museums… just print a free ticket HERE.

Next week, take the little kids to Toddler Tuesday: Cooking with Henry and Ellibelly at Discovery Green.  Listen to the story and stay to play at the park!

Go for a Night Hike at the Nature Discovery Center.  Families can learn about the wildlife that is out and about in Russ Pitman Park once the sun goes down.

Enjoy the Bayou Bend Family Day, “Hispanic Heritage”.  This day includes activities, demonstrations and performances around Bayou Bend’s gardens and historic mansion.

When the big kids are in school, take the little ones to storytime.  You can go to Nature Story Time at Nature Discovery Center, Family Storytime at Levy Park, Children’s Story Hour at Hermann Park and Toddler Tuesday:  Are You Ready for Some Football? at Discovery Green.
