Make plans for another great week in Houston, with kids!  Here are the top things to do for Monday through Sunday,  November 13-19, 2017.

1.  All week, Trains Over Texas is open at the  Houston Museum of Natural Science.  This model train display is free with museum admission.

2.  Tuesday through Sunday, Magical Winter Lights is open at Gulf Greyhound Park.  This giant lantern festival takes you around the world in lights!


3.  On Wednesday, enjoy Nature Storytime at the Nature Discovery Center.

4.  On Thursday, enjoy Free Museum Entry in the museum district.

5.  On Friday, go to Frostival at Discovery Green.  This is the opening of the ICE at Discovery Green and the debut of the winter art installation, Hello Trees.  Enjoy a live musical performance, live ICE battles, interactive ice sculptures and more!

6.  Starting Saturday, Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo opens for the season!  The zoo closes at 5:00pm and reopens at 6:00pm and requires a separate ticket.  (Zoo Lights opens a couple days earlier for members.)

7.  On Saturday and Sunday, head downtown for the Via Color Street Painting Festival on the streets surrounding City Hall.  Two hundred artists will converge to celebrate the artistic spirit of Houston and to benefit The Center for Hearing and Speech, a local non-profit that serves children with hearing loss.

8.  On Sunday, go to the Bayou Bend Family Day for the Thanksgiving themed event.  This month the free family day travels to Emancipation Park for an afternoon of performances, activities, games, and demonstrations. Celebrate the autumn season, history, and Houston civic pride!
