I Love Ketchup – A Tale About Chick-Fil-A and Whataburger Ketchup Packets That I Hide in My Purse

Whataburger Ketchup2This is Felicia, here to talk about something I love: Ketchup.  Specifically, Whataburger and Chick Fil A Ketchup.

Whataburger has (finally) come out with their own label of ketchup that they are marketing them at all HEBs. I needed this to happen because, quite frankly, I am someone who is serious about her ketchup.

I have been known to steal ketchup packets, and hoard their sweet deliciousness in my purse, or better yet, in my friend’s purse, because there is a less chance of the packets exploding on my stuff.

I do this with the intention of squeezing each one out into a bottle for me to keep in my refrigerator. My husband laughs, but seriously, if you laugh, don’t expect me to share. Get your own boring ketchup.

The other ketchup I am in love with is the Chick Fil A ketchup. It may be regular Heinz ketchup, but I think that the little packets make it taste more delicious. Unfortunately, I am still boycotting Chick Fil A for their former large donations to several anti gay organizations. I have several gay friends and family members, that I love dearly, who remind me that every time I eat a chicken nugget from Chick Fil A that I am trampling on their civil rights.

Now whether you believe in that or not, it is entirely up to you. It’s our choice and you can have a different opinion and we can all still be friends. But I still steal Chick Fil A’s ketchup. (You can judge me for stealing and this would be an acceptable reason to not be my friend.)

I make my friends (Jill) that eat there bring me back purse-fulls of ketchup. It is so tasty that I justify this obvious theft, that is not consistent with the terms of the boycott, with this thought: I am costing Dan T. Cathy tons of money with each packet (not really, this is a franchise). I am really socking it to the man. I’m really almost (not quite, not even anywhere close) just like Harvey Milk.

Lucky for everyone involved, I now have an alternative to stealing small packets from fast food joints:  Whataburger bottles that I can buy at the grocery store, with no guilt.

Has anyone here tried the Whataburger Spicy Ketchup? I’m like a ninety six year old, cranky man and I hate to deviate from what I already know that I like. How is it? Also, what is your favorite ketchup? Whole foods, Heinz or the Wendy’s brand?

Let me know and please don’t ever spell ketchup, C-A-T-S-U-P. It makes you sound like a 1920’s flapper.

  1. Once I tastes the spicy ketchup and haven't tasted the regular one. It's really good.

  2. Kimberly Culpepper Artall says:

I LUUUUUUURVE Whataburger ketchup. Always have. I hoarded packets to take with me to college in LA because there are no Whataburgers in Louisiana. WTH! I do NOT like the spicy ketchup. It's not the same as the original. Why mess with perfection? I knew there was a reason why I liked you…

  3. Daniel Flores says:

I'm a BIG fan of the Chick fil A sauce. If I could I'd put it in my diet Dr pepper when I eat there.
