“I Love School” Lunch Boxes

School is back in sessions and I’m back to making cool lunches for my son. If you have been following along, you know that I make neat lunches for Joe as a sneaky trick to get him to like school.  (I don’t think he ever hated school, it was just a really fun thing to say. Over and over and over every morning.) My trick is working so far. He likes school and loves lunch time.

The first lunch was a “oh no, school starts again tomorrow? I better make a lunch quick.” lunch. He got his favorite triple-decker peanut butter and jelly and cheerio sandwich. I thought it looked a little weird, be he still loves it. He also got green pepper slices, dried cherries and candied pecans… because, well, I had them on the counter top. Good thing Joe did not recognize this as a desperate last minute attempt at a cool lunch.

By the next lunch day, I pulled my act together and made a mickey mouse quesadilla. (Nana – This lunch has nothing to do with the mickey mouse cookie cutter suddenly missing from your house. I swear.) He also got some almonds and dried cherries that were not stolen from Nana’s house.

All in all, I’m calling the week a success. Joe was happy to be back at school.
