Things to do in Houston today, and this weekend, with kids!  April 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 2015

Red Block Wall at Discovery Green
Take the kids to Miller Outdoor Theatre for the The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Thursday and Friday and to East Meets West XIII on Saturday.  Pick between East Meets West and a little movie, called The Lego Movie, on the green at Discovery Green!

Also on Saturday is Bubblefest in the Heights, Ancestor Quest at the Asia Society and the Future Vet Woof Shop at the Children’s Museum of Houston.

On Sunday, celebrate Día del Niño at the Children’s Museum and watch Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing at Main Street Theater.

On Tuesday, head to Discovery Green for Toddler Tuesday with Paw Patrol Team Colors.  This free weekly event is at 10:30am and includes a storytime, character visit and activity.  BigKidSmallCity will be at the park and be sure to come introduce yourself!

Top 7 Things to Do this Week & Weekend, in Houston, with Kids – April 20-26, 2015

Each week, I provide a list of things to do in Houston with kids.  The full event lists are for Thursday through Wednesday and can always be found HERE.  (Scroll through to find the dates you are looking for!)

So you can look forward to the events Houston has going on this week, here are the favorites for Monday through Sunday, April 20-26, 2015!

1.  On Monday Disney on Ice: Frozen at NRG!

2.  On Tuesday, come see Mickey Mouse at Discovery Green.  This free weekly event starts at 10:30am and includes a storytime, character visit and activity.  Come see BigKidSmallCity!

3.  On Thursday, take the kids to Miller Outdoor Theatre for the The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Thursday and Friday.  On Saturday, watch East Meets West XIII.

4.  On Saturday, watch The Lego Movie on the green at Discovery Green!

Things to do in Houston today, and this weekend, with kids!  April 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 2015

Springtime in Houston means lots of family festivals!

On Saturday, take the family to the free  Heights Kids’ Day of Music at Love Park.   This day is all about music and kids.  From Latin to R&B to kid’s music to Irish rock, the live performances will introduce kids to all types of music.  AND there will be an instrument “petting zoo” for kids to touch and try the instruments!

Also on Saturday, attend the Young Writers Workshop and then stick around for Discovery Green Flea at Discovery Green.  Talk with local shop owners, listen to music, grab dinner and people watch.  If you are in Sugar Land, head to the Loco Family Fun Day for free face painting music and fun!

On Sunday, attend the opening of Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing at Main Street Theater and Family Day at Rienzi & Bayou Bend.   The Family Days are free and include tours, crafts and food.  Park once and take the free shuttle between the Museum of Fine Arts house museums.

All weekend, learn about Japanese and Japanese American Culture and Traditions at the Japan Festival at Hermann Park!  Music, performances, food and shopping!

On Tuesday, head to Discovery Green for Toddler Tuesday with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: A Hot Dog Day!  This free weekly event is at 10:30am and includes a storytime, character visit and activity.  BigKidSmallCity will be at the park and be sure to come introduce yourself!
