Hermann Park Kite Festival
Spring is here, along with lots of festivals and things to do in Houston!

On Saturday, kids can visit Mandell Park for a Garden Storytime, playtime and toy-swap.  Kids 8-12 can also learn to cook at Phoenicia.

On Sunday, take the family to the Hermann Park Kite Festival for kite making, kite flying, face painting, performances and more!  Try to take METRORail or be prepared to park some distance away… this event is very popular.

All weekend long, visit the Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park, the German Heritage Festival at the Tomball Train Depot or Easter Extravaganza and Egg Hunt at Blessington Farms.

On Tuesday, head to Discovery Green for Toddler Tuesday and Egg Hunt!  This will be the busiest of the weekly events, so be sure to arrive early… BigKidSmallCity and the Easter Bunny will be there starting at 9:00am so come see us!

Discovery Green Mist Tree
Spring Break is still in full swing for lots of Houston kids and the calendar is full of things for them to do!

Take your engineers to Discovery Green for the rest of STEM week and then sign up your little chefs for a kids pastry class at Phoenicia Specialty Foods, right next door.

At Phoenicia, not only will the professional pastry chef teach your kids how to bake and decorate cookies, but they will get to make their own pizzas for lunch. As the kids enjoy their creations, parents can enjoy a complimentary MKT BAR cocktail. Be quick and get a spot HERE!

Take your little gardeners to the Saturday Storytime at Mandell Park.  This free activity includes a garden story, a toy swap and some hands-on gardening.  Bring an old toy and find something new!

Little farmers can also head to Blessington Farms for strawberry picking and fishing and to the Rodeo to “grow” and “sell” their own food on the fun farm.

This weekend is your last chance for Rodeo… and also Cirque du Soleil Amaluna.  Be sure to go before they are gone!

On Tuesday, head to Discovery Green for the season’s first Toddler Tuesday!  This free weekly event is at 10:30am and includes a storytime, character visit and activity.  BigKidSmallCity will be at the park and be sure to come introduce yourself!
