Happy Holidays!

Skate at the ICE at Discovery Green and watch It’s a Wonderful Life while you are there.  Or go on Saturday to Skate with Santa.

Right next door, go to the Brunch with Santa at Phoenicia Foods Downtown.  You can take photos with Santa and Ms. Claus, decorate Christmas cookies, enjoy classic holiday cartoons and more.

This is also the weekend for Christmas Under the Big Top at Second Baptist Church Woodway.  This big production is not your average Christmas play.  While you are there, go see the Christmas Train Display.

Top 11 Things to Do this Week & Weekend, in Houston, with Kids – December 11-17, 2017

Make plans for another great week in Houston, with kids!  Here are the top things to do for Monday through Sunday,  December 11-17, 2017.  (Be sure to look for discounted holiday show tickets HERE!)

1.  All week, enjoy the holiday by Discovery Green!  See the giant gingerbread house, interactive with art at Hello, Trees! and more!

2.  All week, skate at the ICE at Discovery Green .  Just check their website before you go… the banner across the top will announce any schedule changes (like the ice melting in the heat!).

3.  All week,  Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo is open!  The zoo closes at 5:00pm and reopens at 6:00pm and requires a separate ticket.

4.  All week, Magical Winter Lights is open at Gulf Greyhound Park.  This giant lantern festival takes you around the world in lights!

5.  On Monday, be a Cheap Skate at Discovery Green.  Skate for $8 (which includes skate rentals).

6.  Starting Tuesday, go see Sleeping Beauty And Her Winter Knight at Theater Under the Stars.

7.  On Wednesday, enjoy the Stories at the Trains at Second Baptist at Woodway.  Or go see the layout on Saturday and Sunday.

8.  On Thursday, watch Screen on the Green: It’s a Wonderful Life from the hill or from the ICE at Discovery Green.  The movie is free… and admission to the ICE is $14.

9.  Starting Friday, go see Christmas Under the Big Top at Second Baptist Church Woodway.   This big production is not your average Christmas play.  While you are there, go see the Christmas Train Display.

10.  On Saturday, you can even Skate with Santa at the ICE at Discovery Green!

Happy Holidays!  Here are the things to do in Houston, with kids, brought to you by our sponsor Main Street Theater Winter Break Camp.

Enjoy the Gingerbread Build Off at Hermann Square by City Hall.  Teams will create their masterpieces using 100% edible materials. Watch the teams works, play in the kids’ construction zone and see Santa!

Go to Discovery Green to watch Home Alone from the ICE or the hill.  Or Skate with Santa on Saturday and skate for cheap at Cheap Skate on Monday.  (And while you are there, checkout Hello, Trees! and all the things to do by the park!)

The awesome, and free, Christmas Train Display is open at Second Baptist Woodway and there is a storytime on Wednesday.

For a train you can ride, head to the Kinder Station Holiday Party at Hermann Park.  The event includes free arts and crafts projects, complimentary face painting and regularly priced train rides (or free rides for Hermann Park Members).
