Plan on another great week and weekend in Houston, with kids!

Take advantage of free museum day on Thursday, which includes Shadow Monsters and Summer Art Explorer at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

On Friday,  Cool Nights at the Houston Zoo is a Teddy Bear Bash!  Bring your bear to the Teddy Bear Clinic for a check-up, to a parade around the reflection pool and to the Bear Keeper Talks.

Saturday is Bastille Day at Mandell Park.   Celebrate the French National Day with crepes and activities.  Also on Saturday, attend the (air conditioned) Storytime at Brazos Bookstore and (air conditioned) Fancy Nancy: The Musical at Main Street Theater.

Next week, make Shrinky Dinks and do Gastronomy Experiments at the Pop Shops!  You can also attend the
Family Storytime Circle at Museum of Fine Arts and Storytime Tours at Rienzi.

Top 9 Things to Do this Week & Weekend, in Houston, with Kids – July 6-12, 2015

Each week, I provide a list of things to do in Houston with kids.  The full event lists are for Thursday through Wednesday and can always be found HERE.  (Scroll through to find the dates you are looking for!)

So you can look forward to the events Houston has going on this week, here are the favorites for Monday through Sunday, July 6-12, 2015!

1.  On Tuesday, visit the Aquarium for half the price.  Print the coupon for buy one get one free admission to all the rides, aquarium and stingray tank.

2.  On Tuesday, attend the Tanabata 七夕 Japanese Star Festival at the Children’s Museum.

3.  On Wednesday, attend the Mommy Mingle at the Children’s Museum’s Tot Spot.  Kids under 3 years old can play while moms, dads and caretakers enjoy breakfast and coffee.

4.  On Wednesday, learn about birds at the Nature Discovery Center’s Family Nature Night: Owls & Other Urban Birds.

Happy Independence Day Weekend!

On Friday, you can take a Journey Through China V at Miller Outdoor Theatre, listen to the Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion or watch the The Wizard of Oz at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

On Saturday, celebrate the nation’s birthday!  Let the kids march in Bellaire’s July 4th Parade, let them sign the giant Declaration of Independence at the Bayou Bend Family Day, let them celebrate Kidpendence Day at the Children’s Museum, or take them to watch one of the city’s many fireworks shows!  You can see the full list of 4th of July activities HERE!

Things to do in Houston today, and this weekend, with kids!  June 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, July 1, 2015

Enjoy this week and weekend in Houston with your kids!  It might be hot, but Houston is a great place to be during the summer!

Start off by checking over your Bucket List.  This printable list of things to do in Houston, with kids, includes hours, websites, admission fees and is organized by indoors, outdoors, roadtrips and more.  (This great list was created by Christi!)

Then, on Saturday, take the family to Fancy Nancy: The Musical at Main Street Theater.  The show is 1 hour and 15 minutes and is followed by pictures and autographs with the cast.  There are 3 showtimes and is for kids 3 and older.

Also, on Saturday, enjoy some reading and writing.  Attend the Young Writers Workshop at Discovery Green or Storytime at Brazos Bookstore!

On Monday, take the Journey Through China V at Miller Outdoor Theatre.  On Wednesday, help with Gastronomy Experiments at the Meyer Neighborhood Library!
