Things to do in Houston today, and this Memorial Day weekend, with kids! May 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 2017

School’s out this week!

Young sailors can go to the Powder Monkey Adventure at the Houston Maritime Museum.  Kids can explore the lives of long ago crew members called powder monkeys. Kids can try knot tying, following ship commands, and creating their own powder monkey craft.

Kids can also enjoy Children’s Story Hour at Hermann Park, Stories Under the Sun with Houston Public Library, MET Dance for Kids or Houston Museum of Natural Science at the Park at Levy Park. Or find one of the free Houston splashpads!

Head to the Shop Local Save Local Event in the Houston Heights.  Join local vendors in an event benefiting Friends For Life, a Heights-based no-kill animal shelter.

Also, the last Toddler Tuesday, Oh, The Places You’ll Go,  is next week.  The big kids will be out of school, so bring them along to the free storytime and activity at Discovery Green.  Stop by the BigKidSmallCity booth to grab a ticket… and bring an old book to swap for a new one at the book swap!
