Things to Do in Houston, with Kids, for the 4th of July 2017!

Happy Fourth of July!

If you are looking to celebrate Independence Day, with the kids, around Houston, here’s what’s happening!  Or, you can go HERE for free pools and splashpads all over town!  (And if you know of more events, let us know!)

Freedom Over Texas – July 4, 2017 – 4:00pm-10:00pm – Eleanor Tinsley Park

  • This is the City of Houston’s big event with July 4th music, fireworks and fanfare on Buffalo Bayou,
  • Family friendly and strollers are allowed.
  • Admission: $8.00 Online June 1 – July 3, $10.00 Online & at Gate Day of Event, Children 5 & under FREE w/ paid adult

ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights: A Star-Spangled Salute – July 4, 2017 – 8:30pm – Miller Outdoor Theatre

  • Features patriotic tunes and post-concert fireworks, this year’s Star-Spangled Salute showcases vocalist Ryan Shaw’s soulful sound and the spirited leadership of our new Principal POPS Conductor, Steven Reineke. Plus enjoy favorites like our Service Medley and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
  • Fireworks follow the concert.
  • Free tickets available for covered seating (and no tickets needed for the hill).

Kidpendence Day – July 4, 2017 – 10:00am-6:00pm –  Children’s Museum of Houston

  • Wear your red, white, and blue to pay tribute to the land of the free and the home of the brave.
  • Kick off the festivity with the Scouts presenting the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the National Anthem.
  • Meet the embodiments of American patriotism, Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty.

Fourth of July Fireworks – July 4, 2017 – 7:00pm-9:00pm – Wet’n’Wild SplashTown

  • Fireworks, music, games and much more.
  • Park is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Must buy tickets for the waterpark.

Fourth of July in The Woodlands – – July 3 & 4, 2017 – The Woodlands (Activities all over town!)

  • Star Spangled Salute at The Pavilion (July 3, 2017): Free concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion which features the Houston Symphony performing a selection of patriotic favorites.
  • Fourth of July Parade: Watch the 1.3-mile parade around The Woodlands features marching bands, fire engines, clowns, floats and more!
  • Splash Day: Cool off at one of the Township’s community pools and enjoy activities from noon to 4 p.m. and free refreshments while supplies last. All community pools will be free to residents from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pasadena’s Annual 4th Fest Event – July 4, 2017 – 4:00pm-10:00pm –  Pasadena Convention Center

  • Celebrate the 4th of July at the Pasadena Convention Center from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Twenty minute long fireworks show, live music, a car show, Kidzone, new attractions, USMC Toys for Tots BBQ Cook-off, games, prizes, vendors, sports and other entertainment.

LaCenterra’s 4th of July Celebration – July 4, 2017 – 4:30pm-9:30pm – LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch

  • Patriotic bike contest, live music and a free fireworks display.
