Things to do in Houston today and this weekend, with kids! September 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, October 1, 2, 2013

Cat in the Hall Main Street TheaterIt’s time for Fall Fun in Houston!  This weekend the local farms are opening to the public and visitors can find hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin patches and much more!  Go HERE to learn more!

I am very excited to report that The Cat in the Hat opens at Main Street Theater on Saturday and runs through November 1.  The youth theater is fantastic and the kids are sure to dance and giggle through the show.

Saturday is also the Museum Experience, Zone 4.  Visitors will find discounted admission to the Children’s Museum, Health Museum, Museum of Natural Science, Houston Zoo, Rice Art Gallery, Hermann Park and Miller Outdoor Theatre, along with free pedi-cabs between the venues.

It is also National Public Lands Day, which is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance public lands.  The Houston Arboretum will offer free tours and presentations and Hermann Park is inviting volunteers to help with trail maintenance in the urban forest, Bayou Parkland.

All weekend long, fun can be found at Discovery Green.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday is the great DockDogs competition.  Visitors will also find kayaks, model boats, bands, a writing workshop and more.

And finally, Tuesday is National Night Out.  Make your neighborhood safer by meeting your neighbors.  Find an event in your neighborhood or go to Discovery Green.
