Things to do in Houston today and this weekend, with kids! September 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 2013

Discovery GreenAnother week, another long list of things to do in Houston!

Have you seen all the fun programs at Nature Discover Center in Bellaire?  Junior Scientists get to have fun on Thursdays and preschoolers explore on Tuesdays.

Discovery Green has a full line up of events, including Australia’s Strange Fruit, performing theatre, dance and circus… all on top of 14 foot flexible polls.  This performance looks strange and fabulous and is definitely not ordinary.  Shows are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

While at Discovery Green this weekend, you can also attend the young writers workshop, go kayaking or flea by night. If you return next week, toddlers have a foam party at Toddler Tuesdays!

Thomas fans should head to Hermann Park on Saturday for Thomas & Friends Fun Day!  Enjoy free activities and learn about trains.  There will not be any character appearances, so do don’t expect to ride on Thomas!  However, you can ride the Hermann Park train and PBS and Hermann Park Members get 2 free kids train tickets with the purchase of each adult ticket.

If Spider Man and Iron Man are more your thing, head to the Houston Zoo.  These characters will make appearances on Saturday and Sunday!

Or if air conditioning is more you style, head to Brazos Bookstore on Saturday.  They are bringing back their Storytime and crafts!

And finally, be ready to Swing, Jive and Pop! Into Dance on Wednesday at this Miller Outdoor Theatre Children’s Performance!

Look for the long list of things to do today and this weekend below.  And don’t forget about this list of free things to do, any day of the week!
