Books for Kids to Read – The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane – BigKidSmallCity Book Reviews

This is Felicia and this review is of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo!

Do you want a bedtime page turner that is a good read for you as well? Then look no further.

DiCamillo has succeeded again with The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. With its descriptive language and story line, my girls and I had no problems reading this book in two nights.

The story is about a self centered China rabbit name Edward Tulane who is beloved by his owner but is unable to return her love. Edward lives a lavished lifestyle for a doll and believes to be the center of the universe.

After a disastrous adventure, he is separated from his owner and is dumped into the ocean. That is where Edward begins to grow emotionally. After being found washed ashore, Edwards meets several different people, all with whom he lives with for a short amount of time.

Each person that becomes his new owner teaches Edward an valuable lesson and at the end of the book, Edward has developed into a likable character with a wonderful heart. The book ends with a surprise ending that will inspire happy tears to flow.

This book is a must have for every bookshelf. It is such a great story about love, emotions and people in “the real world”.
