Labor Day Weekend is here, marking the end of summer break, but not the end of Houston fun.  As the school year ramps up, so do the daytime toddler meet ups, the weekend events and the Fall festivals.

Discovery Green is bringing back their Toddler Tuesdays with Ella Bella Ballerina and The Sleeping Beauty.  On the weekend, you will also find model boatskayaks and a Young Writer’s Workshop.

The Museum of Fine Arts Houston is hosting Detective Days, until the end of August, at Bayou Bend.  Little artists can also meet up at Friday’s Little Art Adventures at the main Binz location.

The Children’s Museum still has free vaccinations during this Thursday’s Free Admission evening.  Mommy Mingle is also coming back on Wednesday in the Tot Spot!

On Saturday, the Houston Zoo will host a White Elephant sale with everything except, of course, an elephant.  They have items from zoo lockers, closets, offices and employee donations for sale.  Proceeds will benefit the Houston Zoo Wildlife Conservation Program.  While you are there, be sure to check out Animals Assembled and Avenue Zoo before they leave on Monday.

For this weekend only, METRO is FREE!  We love riding the METRORail to Downtown Houston.  Jump on any METRO Bus or Train, Saturday through Monday, and ride free!

Want something a little different?  Ride bikes with the Mayor on Thursday evening, starting at Market Square Park.

Look for the long list of Houston events below and this list of free things to do in Houston any day of the week!
