The kids are out of school and it’s time to get out and have some fun!  There are several Houston events this weekend.  For New Years Eve on December 31, there are a few family friendly  parties to choose from.

At Discovery Green there will be 2 count downs… 1 and 9:00pm and then other at midnight.  There will also be entertainers, a bubble garden and art car parade.  At the Downtown Aquarium, you can reserve a spot at Sharkey’s New Years Eve for Kids.  At 11:00am or 3:30pm, you can join the party that includes Kid’s Balloon Drop, Prizes, Sharkey & Nero Photos, Bird Show, and All Day Adventure Pass.  The event is $14.99 for ages 4-10 and $22.99 for Adults.  There is also the Rockin’ New Year’s Noon Bash at the Children’s Museum of Houston.  This end-of-year bash rings the New Year at the stroke of noon with a parade and shimmering ball drop.
