EAT, SHOP, ROCK for a good cause! November 1, 2012 – 5:00-10:00pm. Benefitting Workshop Houston

EAT, SHOP, ROCK for a good cause along Houston’s coolest blocks! Mid Main’s Tacos A Go-Go, My Flaming Heart, Natachee’s, Double Trouble, and The Continental Club are all donating a percentage of their sales that afternoon to Workshop Houston. Come that afternoon to learn more about Workshop Houston and enjoy FREE live music and art shows all night by Houston’s favorites!

Workshop Houston’s mission is to provide youth with creative, technical and educational resources. The organization uses five workshops –  the Third Ward Bike Shop (do-it-yourself bike repair), the Chopper Shop (welding/metal fabrication), the Beat Shop (music production), the Style Shop (fashion/graphic design) and the Scholar Shop (tutoring/academic enrichment) to help students deepen their interest in and commitment to learning, express themselves creatively, and broaden their horizons through setting and accomplishing goals.

Don’t miss the Custom Workshop Houston-made Chopper Raffle… tickets available for $5 at all participating businesses on the day of the event!

5 pm to 7 pm Workshop Houston comes to Natachee’s! Fun Activities and Entertainment provided by kids, for kids of all ages! Fashion show by the Workshop Houston Style Shop, Do-it-yourself bike repair by the Third Ward Bike Shop, Music and Videos brought to you by Workshop Houston Beat Shop 
 
5 pm Pop-up Gallery art show featuring work by local artists Matthew Sullivan, Juan-Carlos Arredondo and Jarod Griffith 
5:30 pm Main Street Projects show with artwork by Rahul Mitra entitled Colloquial Conversations 

Reception in the Art Garden brought to you by Deep Eddy Vodka

 

6 pm My Flaming Heart featuring Dios de Los Muertos art show by Doc from Ashland Gallery 
7 pm BEETLE HAPPY HOUR show @ The Continental Club 
7:30 pm Little Joe Washington show @ Natachee’s 
8:30 pm The Katie Stuckey Band @ the Pachinko Hut
