Our Review:   My son loves The Rainforest Café.   It probably helps that they have a marketing campaign on PBS during morning cartoons.   He asks weekly to go there.   We had only been twice, but before our third visit, I learned of the following program on TheDealyo.

If you join the Landry’s Select Club, for all Landry’s restaurants, including The Rainforest Café, for $25 and you’ll receive a $25 credit on your membership card to use towards your next restaurant visit.  I joined the club (which is just a one time fee of $25) and took my kids to the restaurant.   Just as advertised, I presented my card an received $25 off my bill. Since I was going to Rainforest Café anyway, I consider this a free membership. Additional benefits are:

Welcome Reward– $25 Reward added to your account at registration
Birthday Reward– $25 Reward for your birthday month
Earn Points– 1 point for every dollar spent. 250 points equals a $25 credit
Priority Seating– Receive seating privileges, seven days a week
Gift Cards- Earn points when you purchase gift cards.
Rewards are added to your card. No more paper gift certificates!

The restaurant is very exciting for kids. The ceiling is covered with leaves and the kids think they are in a real rainforest. There are life sized animals and stampedes and a periodic “rain storm” where the lights dim and the lighting flashes. Do note that my three year old nephew is sensitive to loud noises and is scared of the rainstorms. My six year old niece, 4 year old son and two year old daughter think they are great.

The kids can watch the animals and color while the food is prepared. There are a lot of kid’s meal options, all around $6.00. I ordered the China Chicken Salad and it was more than enough to eat (and very good). My son ate the Castaway Kid’s Pizza and my daughter had the Rainforest Rascals (mini burgers). There were no complaints about the food.

In summary, we’ll go back for sure. I just might wait for my $25 birthday reward!
